Surface To Air

Kado Omeracu, once a powerful man with good intentions, now a power crazed ruler, sat in in his main office of the Reinforced .sStat Corp. building. He was staring at the 6 computer monitors on his desk, each had a image of what seemed to be the outside of the building, each changing every 10 seconds or so. The images on the screens were unimaginable; Zombies walking a muck around the building, and from the the cameras could see as far back as the main highway leading up to the building. It seemed he did was he had planned to do from the beginning. To cleanse the world in his vision.

"Reckoning is the only reason why, they suffer at all" He said to himself. He looked up, seeing his two guards standing in front of his desk, and two down at the door. They office was clean, floors shiny and nice, except from the blood from a survivor he had found while coming back to his main building, from one of the many Refugee Camps scattered around the globe he tortured and beat the man until he told him something from the looks of it, he didn't tell him anything, since he wasn't moving and blood still dripping from his head.

["Where are the camps?!?"

"I don't know! I was traveling from my house! I don't know what you're talking about!"

Kado grabbed the man by the collar of his shirt and punched him in the bridge of the nose.

"You better tell me now. Do you hear me Mayday? I am in search of what remains of those camps. But I'm caught in a knot, since when I send my men out to find them, they never return. Goes to say, they get killed. Tell me, now."

".. Riddle me this" Mayday said

"Wherever you are . Send out a flare. This is an attempt to connect, edify and dissect. Send a light. Send repair. From surface, to air "

Mayday laughed, then coughed up drops of blood. "Once you find out, what it means. Then you will find. What you seek."

Kado laughed, "Screw you and your damn riddles, I've had enough of your childish games."

He took his Ludger, placed it to Mayday's head, and pulled the trigger.

With a blank angered look on his face, he said

"Suffering is a theme. But reckoning is the only reason why we suffer at all."]


"Suffering is a theme."

Kado said while he looked back at the cameras, noticing a fight between a group of survivors and the zombie horde.

"Surface.. To air."

The crazed red head started in his laughter once more.

"This is an attempt to connect.. edify and dissect"

He snapped his fingers and pointed to the door, his troops slowly moved out the door, heading for the highway entrance.

Salem was outside of the building. He was dressed in BLACKSEED13's battle gear. As he surveyed a secret map of .sSTAT Corp., he was unaware of the zombies coming up behind him.

He sat in his chair. looking on the monitors, one perfectly in Conners, his sons, room. He looked at it. Seeing him on his computer, he is now 16.

He looked up at his office, door opened, he would see his soldiers walking on by.

Salem turned at the last second, having heard movement behind him.

Darting out of the way quickly as a zombie swatted at him, he grabbed his tanto and unsheathed it, sticking it up through the zombie's chin.

Pulling it out quickly, he then ran to the other side of the building where the secret tunnel was. To his knowledge, Kado was unaware of these tunnels. Salem had found the information in the ruins of .sSTAT Cuba.

Kado was still looking at the cameras, he seen someone walk into a room he doesn't remember, the camera wouldn't turn to see who it was, or where they were going, he didn't want to send someone, because no one really knew where the area was, Kado calculated where the camera was, got up, and started down the hall.

Salem continued down the long hallway. It reminded him of a hospital. He didn't know exactly what these tunnels had been used for, as the report was blacked out, however from what he could tell it was some sort of testing wing for highly confidential experiments.

Eerily quiet... That's what this place was. Too quiet. Salem was burning with fear. He sheathed his tanto then took out his AA-12.

As he attached a silencer he didn't notice a can in front of him. He kicked it, making a loud metallic sound as it hit the wall. This sounded like a bomb going off compared to the silence before.

Salem stilled himself, his AA-12 ready. He could just sense it...

Shit was about to get real.

Kado found the camera and walked up to the door, he looked at it a bit confused, he never really seen this door before. He slowly walked into it, it slowly closed behind him making a loud slam, it echoed through the halls in front of him. He pulled out his custom Luger and turned on his flashlight, attached to the gun, aimed and started down the hall.

Salem sighed in relief as nothing seemed to happen. Pulling down his goggles, he pushed a button and set them to Night Vision mode. There was some light in the place, but not enough to see easily.

He walked over to the can and checked it out. There was a long number on the side, like a serial code, and on the other side was 'XZ7309 A13'.

This didn't look like any code that Salem knew of, but he decided it didn't matter. He sat the can down and continued down the hall, ready for battle at any time.

Kado continued, he looked around the halls, only his flashlight lighting his way, he looked behind him, backing up into a deck, knocking off an unknown object. making a noise. He quickly turned around, looking on the desk, looking through the papers left on the desk.

Salem continued until there were two corridors, one going left the other going right.

Suddenly he heard a slight noise coming from the right. He headed that way, being overly cautious.

He found something on the desk that caught his attention. It was a blueprint. From 1957. The year .sStat Corp. was made, it was the original blueprint to to entire building. It seemed once Jonna was dead, Kyoto covered up this entire wing. He slid the blueprint into his pocket and continued down the hall.

Salem stopped when he saw a light a little way down the hall. It was coming closer with every passing second. He stepped back as quickly and quietly as possible, trying to think of somewhere to hide. Nobody was supposed to be down here!

Kado continued down the hall, he looked around in the filing cabinets for more information about the wing, he wanted to find more, he wanted to know about what this ring was going to be used here. He stopped looking, and continued down the hall.

He hid behind a corner hoping he wouldn't have to confront this stranger.

He continued, he passed right by the corner he was hiding behind, he looked inside a medium sized filing cabinet, finding documents, and sits at a small desk, right near the corner he is behind. The files say "Confidential" which is what he wanted, he opened up and started to read, softly whistling to himself.

Salem watched as Kado walked by. He held his breath hoping not to be noticed as Kada sat down. He aimed his gun and walked up behind the man slowly.

Kado didn't hear a thing, except the rustling of papers, he started reading when the words "Test Subjects" and "Virus" caught his attention. He slowly started reading the papers word by word, comprehending each paper.

Salem placed the barrel of his AA-12 against the back of Kado's neck. "Don't move," he demanded coldly.

Kado slightly jumped, he felt the coldness of the barrel pressed against his back, or was that the wind blowing into the the tunnel. He softly placed his hands flat on the table and sat there, not moving. "Well, I see you found your way into the compound. Into an area, not even I have seen before." He smiled to himself "What are you going to do? Shoot me?"

"Not unless I have to... Stand up. Slowly."

He slowly stands up, putting his hands in the air, and slowly turns around to face his slaver.
